What is T-Level Science?
 

T-Levels are new, two-year, technical study programmes, designed with employers, to give young people the skills that are needed within industry. T-Levels will provide a mixture of:

  • Technical knowledge and skills specific to their chosen industry or occupation.
  • An industry placement of at least 45 days in their chosen industry or occupation.
  • Relevant maths, English and digital skills.

What Will You Study on the Science T-Level?

The course starts with the essential knowledge and skills to work in science or healthcare including how the industry works, core scientific concepts and key regulations including managing information, health and safety and good scientific/clinical practice. You will cover fundamental principles of Science across physics, biology and chemistry.

You will study key scientific methodology whilst enhancing your practical skills of working with experimental equipment and developing the appropriate techniques for this.

The T level can lead to a wide range of future prospects, from going straight into employment as a laboratory technician to a range of higher education degrees within the Science sector.

What Next after Completing T-Level Science?

Many of our students go on study within higher education with this qualification leading to careers in employments such as a science technician, food technologist or laboratory technician.

At least two 5s and three 4s at GCSE, including at least 5s in English Language, Maths and Science.
