Congratulations on your conditional offer from Cardinal Newman. This conditional offer means that you have a place on the courses you have applied for, as long as you meet the entry criteria for the course(s).
As an offer holder you are guaranteed a place at the College, but only if you achieve the entry requirements specified by the courses that you have applied for. For more details of specific course entry requirements, please click here.
But what do you need to do now? Now that you have received your offer, click on the link in your offer email which will take you to our student portal, called CEDAR, then login using the details provided in your email. This will activate your account and notify us that you would like to accept your offer.
Once you have done this, we will continue to keep in touch with you via email, about all the important information that you need to know, such as transport and bursaries, so keep an eye on your emails in the coming weeks and months so you don’t miss out.
We will also contact you to invite you to book your space at Newman Fest, which takes place on 30th June 2025 and is open to all applicants. It is an opportunity for you to come and spend the day at the College and try out your subjects, before making those all-important decisions of which to choose when you enrol in August.
You will have the chance to explore the beautiful campus, enjoy our tasty food and drinks and meet your teachers and potential classmates, making you ready to start with us in September! If you are a still a little undecided about your courses, you can try out up to three of those that you are considering studying (even if you haven’t applied for them) to find out which programme of study is right for you. If you wish to make any changes to your subject choices after Newman Fest, simply drop us an email along with your full name and T Number and we can change this for you.
As an offer holder, you will receive an email in the summer term, inviting to book your enrolment appointment at Cardinal Newman. This will take place on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd August, 2025 after you have received your GCSE results, and will take place via Microsoft Teams. You won’t need to have a Teams account, you can simply join this meeting as a guest. This appointment will be conducted by a member of the team from Cardinal Newman, who will be able to advise you on your course choices before enrolling you onto your programme of study, ready for September!
If you don’t achieve the grades you need for your chosen courses, we encourage you to still attend your virtual enrolment appointment, as our staff will do their best to advise you and find an alternative programme of study wherever possible.
Once you have enrolled you will be sent a confirmation email containing more details about the start of term and when to expect your timetable to be available etc.
At the start of your first term, we will run Newman Extra, for the first few weeks of term and gives students the chance to change their courses if they feel that they have picked the wrong programme of study for them. This allows students to change their courses, where possible, as long as they have the grades that they need for the courses they want to change to and there is space available in the class. This helps us to ensure that everyone is on the correct programme of study for them, and has the best possible chance to succeed.
