Creative Media Practice

Your work for this course will focus around these key areas: Forming ideas, Problem solving, technical skills, professional practice and communication – all of the key skills required for working in a professional industry environment. You will use these skills to plan and produce effective film and tv productions ranging from: short films, and music videos, to title sequences. In addition to this, in the second year you will be given the opportunity to build on your personal portfolio; producing showreel, and a website to showcase your skills and  work. You will also be given the opportunity to work  for real clients producing promotional videos.

A BTEC in Creative Media Practice will allow you to study for a degree or other Higher Education course in the following subjects: Film Production, Television production, and  media production. Completing this course will also give you the opportunity to create a show-reel. This can be used to show to future employers or help you to progress onto Higher Education. You will also be able to study other courses such as Business, and ICT.

Edexcel

At least five 4s at GCSE, including at least a 4 in GCSE English Language or Maths.

BTEC Foundation Diploma (540) is equivalent to 1.5 A-Levels
BTEC Extended Diploma, this is equivalent to 3 A-Levels
