Lancashire Colleges' Young Enterprise Day

Lancashire Colleges' Young Enterprise Day

Three students from the Foundation Learning Programme at Cardinal Newman took part in Lancashire College’s Young Enterprise competition, held at Nelson and Colne College.

The event was organised as part of a suite of competitions organised by The Lancashire Colleges, a not-for-profit organisation created in 1998 to enhance collaboration between the FE College’s in Lancashire. Forming part of the Lancashire Colleges’ Skills Competition Programme, which sees a variety of events taking place at Colleges across Lancashire, students were able to spend the day working on their ideas for boosting recycling here at Newman.

Chloe, James and Logan, who are all part of the Foundation Learning Department at College spent an intense day working hard designing and presenting their ideas, which they have brought back to college to share with our Carbon Reduction Team. Their ideas included raising awareness of recycling schemes and how to recycle properly, as well as providing more visible recycling bins around the campus.

The students had a fantastic day and really showcased their skills and ideas – we couldn’t be prouder of them!
