Cardinal Newman College is thrilled to announce that we are finalists in this Year’s National Cyber Awards.
The awards, which are set to take place in London on 23rd September, is a prestigious event, now in its sixth year and recognise outstanding contributions and achievements in cyber security.
As digital threats continue to grow, the importance of cybersecurity cannot be overstated. Cyber attacks pose a significant risk to businesses, governments, and individuals. Established as a hallmark of excellence in the industry, the National Cyber Awards set a benchmark of excellence. In addition, it is an accolade designed to encourage innovation, resilience, and dedication of safeguarding the digital landscape as well as the continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices across the globe.
The awards ceremony will feature categories spanning from The Cyber Citizen of the Year, The Cyber Student of the Year, and The Cyber Policing Team of the Year, all the way through to The Prime Minister's Award for Cyber. Nominees and winners will be celebrated for their significant impacts in securing cyberspace against evolving threats. Cardinal Newman has been nominated for the Cyber School of the Year, which is wonderful recognition of all of the amazing work put in by our team and the outstanding opportunities available to our students.
Principal Nick Burnham said: “As a College we aim to offer our students opportunities to stretch and challenge themselves, both inside and outside of the classroom. Our work within the Cyber Academy aims to give students greater knowledge and understanding as well as an advantage when entering university or the workforce in a cyber-based field. We are delighted that the programme we offer here at the College has been recognised with a nomination in the National Cyber Awards.”
