Evie Harrison

Destination Field Service Engineer at United Utilities

Studied: A-Levels in Business Studies, Sociology and History

After completing her A-Levels at Newman, Evie is eager to take the next step and begin working full time. Having held a number of part-time jobs throughout her teenage years, she has already developed valuable experience of the workplace and is now looking forward to building on these skills as she starts her career.

Evie feels that her time at Newman has given her the confidence, independence and practical skills she needs to make the transition from college to full-time employment. Alongside her studies, she has developed her ability to manage her time, meet deadlines and balance her academic commitments with work and other responsibilities.

“I am really excited to get out into the world of work. I have really enjoyed my time at College and I found that the structure of the college day really worked for me. The support I have received has helped me to prepare for life after college and given me the confidence to take this next step.

“The support system the College offers is incredible and something I know I’ll not find anywhere else. Having people around me who were always willing to listen, offer advice and help me when I needed it made such a difference to my experience at Newman.

“I’ve also really valued the independence that College has given me. It has helped me to become more responsible for my own learning and my future, while still knowing that there was always support available when I needed it.

“Now, I’m looking forward to putting everything I’ve learnt into practice, gaining more experience and starting the next chapter of my life. I’m excited to see where my career takes me and to continue learning and developing along the way.”
