The Student Council is responsible for organising student social events, (held about once every half term in Preston), arranging gigs for bands at Newman College, and organising the Leavers Ball, elections, charity fundraising events and many other events in the College calendar.

Through our affiliation with the National Union of Students (NUS), we gain discounts for all students who choose to accept the NUS card offered to them.

The members of the Student Council (who are elected by the students) are the link between management, staff and students, and we are represented on the College's Governing Body. We are here to help with any worries or problems you might have. If we don't have the answer, we invariably know someone who does and we are able to refer you to a wide range of support.
