Personal Tutoring

Each student in the College has a Personal Tutor who is responsible for making sure that you settle into College life as quickly as possible and in encouraging you to make the most of your time spent at College. Cardinal Newman College places great importance on the role of the Personal Tutor. We have a small group of specialist tutors who have a strong commitment to building and developing a sound working relationship with you, and for maintaining contact with your parents to ensure that the College is supporting you in your progress.

What can parents expect?

Personal Tutors meet regularly with all of their students both individually and in groups to provide support. We will help your son/daughter to reach your targets in all of your subjects, and ensure that there are regular progress checks and action planning at every stage. Students and their parents are invited into College during the year to discuss progress with individual subject teachers.

Our aim is to develop excellent communication with parents and keep them fully informed of the progress of their child. We have purpose built, on-line monitoring systems, that allow both students and parents to monitor attendance, progress checks, exam timetables etc. to help facilitate the tracking of your son/daughters performance throughout their time here at Newman.
