These enrichment activities can be in the form of guest speakers, trips to regional and national conferences or places of interest. You may also have the opportunity to pursue your studies during visits abroad; the last four years have seen visits to Barcelona, Rome, Krakow, Prague, Berlin, Germany, New York, Iceland and Australia! ![]() Music StudentsPerforming in Austria, in addition to performances throughout the year in Lancashire and in college. Charity EventsIncluding various events supporting such charities as, the MacMillan Nurses, Comic Relief, Amnesty International, and HCPT. Art departmenttrips to galleries and exhibitions in London, Manchester (to view degree work), Harrogate (for the Knit and Stitch show), visits from professional designers etc. Sociology trip to Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic, with the highlight being the visit to Auschwitz. ![]() History studentshave visited Russia, Germany and Rome to put their historical studies in context. Geography studentsvisiting the Universities of Lancaster and UCLAN for lectures along with residential visits to Castlehead field centre. Psychology studentsexperience a clinical psychologist lecture, psychotherapist lecture among others as well as visiting Chester zoo to study primate behaviour. ![]() Languageexchange trips abroad and return visits from foreign students. University visits by science students and lectures in college by university and other specialist staff, including NHS workers, as well as the chance to visit Iceland along with Geography students. Business Studiesvisit major UK attractions such as Chester Zoo and Alton Towers and have in recent year also been to the financial district in New York And so much more!Outside of your subject based enrichment there is plenty of opportunity to pursue many different activities including our sporting academies and teams, the College magazine, Newman film, student council, the list is endless. |
